Terrafolk Violin Duo
Bojan Cvetrežnik and Barja Drnovšek are members of the Slovenian based band Terrafolk, rewarded with a BBC world music Award. They are both classically trained violinists who travel and learn diverse violin languages. Bojan is a founder of the international Symbolic Orchestra and was a violinist-soloist at the Cirque du Soleil show Varekai. Barja has been increasingly engaged, in addition to classical orchestras, in a number of ensembles that play folk music.
As the Terrefolk Violin Duo they perform original compositions, arranged music for violins or just play with ‘no adds’. In their music they search for the points that different music worlds have in common. And try connect with live audiences, especially in small venues.
Together they founded an international recognized educational initiative Godalkanje.org, a platform for traditional violin and improvised music where they teach high level students how to play the violin in different styles. Their students concert line up Slovenian Fiddle Gang performed concerts in 6 European countries. They take their time to experience nice unpredictable moments with live music.
